Overview

Hear Flat is provided by The Black Boxx. This policy explains how information may be collected, used, shared, retained, and protected when you visit the Hear Flat website, purchase Hear Flat Pro, download the installer, request support, or activate a license.

Information You Provide

You may provide information such as your email address, support message content, purchase details, license key, and any troubleshooting details you choose to send, such as your DAW name, Windows version, or plugin behavior.

Checkout And Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe. The Black Boxx does not store full payment card numbers. Stripe may process transaction data such as payment method details, purchase amount, purchase date, billing information, fraud-prevention signals, and payment status according to Stripe's privacy practices.

License Activation

When you activate Hear Flat Pro, the plugin contacts the Black Boxx licensing service to validate the purchase and unlock Pro features. The activation request may include your purchase email, license key, product identifier, app version, operating system, activation label, and a machine fingerprint used to identify the activated device. If you use license recovery, the licensing service may also create a temporary recovery link and replacement license key for the purchase email.

Download And Website Data

The Hear Flat website provides product information, checkout links, installer downloads, and support information. The current static website code does not intentionally set advertising or analytics cookies. Hosting providers, browsers, and security systems may still process technical information such as IP address, request time, user agent, referrer, and downloaded file path.

How Information Is Used

Information is used to complete purchases, create and deliver license keys, validate and activate licenses, provide downloads, respond to support requests, prevent fraud or license abuse, maintain records, improve reliability, and operate the licensing service.

How Information Is Shared

Information may be shared with service providers that help operate Hear Flat, including payment processing, website hosting, email delivery, database hosting, security, and customer support. Information may also be disclosed if required by law, to protect rights or security, or to investigate misuse of the service.

What We Do Not Sell

The Black Boxx does not sell Hear Flat customer license records or payment records to third parties for money. We also do not store full payment card details on The Black Boxx licensing server.

Retention

Purchase, order, license, activation, and email-delivery records may be retained as needed to provide license access, support customers, maintain accounting records, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations. Support messages may be retained for as long as needed to handle the request and maintain service history.

Security

The Black Boxx uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate for a small software product, including HTTPS for hosted licensing requests, hashed license-key storage, private server configuration files, and restricted access to non-public licensing code and database credentials.

Your Choices

You can contact support to request help accessing, correcting, or deleting information associated with your Hear Flat license where applicable. Some records may need to be retained for accounting, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, security, or legal reasons.

Children

Hear Flat is intended for music production and audio engineering users. It is not directed to children under 13, and The Black Boxx does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

International Use

The Black Boxx may use service providers in different locations. If you use Hear Flat from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where service providers operate.

Changes

This policy may be updated as Hear Flat, the licensing service, hosting setup, payment flow, or support process changes. The updated date at the top of this page will change when the policy is revised.
